SUMMARY Develop strategic and tactical plans to implement company business goals; provide leadership to the Finance staff; manage strategic and complex accounting function through the coordination of people, logistics and resources; advise senior management on issues of potential impact such as profitability, capital and expenses; direct the workflow of the Finance & Accounting department in planning, processing, collecting, summarizing and interpreting financial data for senior management, parent company and outside auditors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage strategic accounting and finance projects within the site to budget, schedule and technical goals; track and report costs; take proactive measures to positively influence direction and outcome of projects.Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and-long range planning; develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established business goals. Direct all facets of the daily operations of the department, ensuring compliance with the accounting regulations; evaluate and standardize procedures to streamline financial and accounting processes and maximize company's resources. Oversee the personnel, which includes selection, work allocation, training, development and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate, coach and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity, performance and employee engagement. Lead general accounting, cost/program accounting, government accounting and compliance programs, proposal support, financial statements, statutory reporting and working capital management activities within the department.Ensure accuracy and validity along with all financial compliance with company policies and regulatory policies. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining financial policies to ensure consistent adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and maintain an effective system of internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, including Cobham Financial requirements. Responsibilities include preparing general site financial statements such P & L, balance sheet and cash flow forecast; communicate site financial standing with upper management. Drive development and analysis of annual budgets, strategic financial plans and monthly and annual forecasts - including revenues, margins and expenses. Coordinate Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Business Review process to include summary, program and overhead analytics. Analyze financial results and provide commentary working closely with business units and Shared Services.Pro-actively analyze financial trends and provide advice to leadership teams. Manage site cash flow including asset tracking and cash forecasting; protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal accounting controls. Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required; reporting and analyses as required. Financial Advisor to BU VP Finance, and Site General Manager on business recommendations. Drive process improvements across the organization maintaining strong adherence to company and regulatory controls. Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation. Coordinate, schedule and facilitate, as applicable, Lean Six Sigma activities for own work area as well as for other areas to enhance cross-functional problems solving; utilize Company tool champions as appropriate for more significant lean events. Develop, track and report visual metrics, including KPI's for area; manage to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements and advancing process control. Support upgrade of new financial and MRP systems. Coordinate with external and internal auditors to keep site in compliance with financial and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements. Supports sales proposal function in developing and determining competitive and complete sales quotes with appropriate profit analysis Support company management in whatever capacities needed to provide relevant and concise information and decision making in business affairs.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to work and solve/research problems both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to communicate and present effectively to both internal and external parties. Ability to establish and adhere to internal due dates, work under tight deadlines, handle multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to changing priorities. Detail-oriented team player with strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and upper management are prerequisites to success in this position Perform other related duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Past supervisor experience of a Finance and Accounting teamKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in finance from a four-year college or university and 10 years related accounting experience is required in managing a finance and/or accounting department, including demonstrated leadership qualities; strong attention to detail; Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or Finance, required; Additional financial credentials - Master in Business Administration (MBA), Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred;Government accounting experience - especially CAS compliance and FARs/DFARS is strongly preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE CPA or CMA Highly Preferred. May be required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA CitizenshipCOMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface with intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft office suite including, Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP or OracleCobham is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population.
