Job Title: Finance Assistant



Job Objective: To oversee and manage all aspects of TER’s finance department



Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO



Reports to: Office Manager



Department: Finance



Position Type: Part-time to full-time (estimated 25-30 hrs./week with flexible hours)



Salary Range: $12-$15/hr. (Salary commensurate with experience)



FINANCE ASSISTANT



Job Description

The Exodus Road (TER) envisions a world where victims of human trafficking are freed

and those who enslave them are brought to justice. The Exodus Road will accomplish

this vision by utilizing covert investigations teams to assist law enforcement in

identifying victims, collecting evidence against traffickers and advocating for police

action.

The Finance Assistant assists the Foundation in the management of gifts, funds, grants

and related records. He/she performs data entry and accounting duties as assigned

by the Office Manager exercising independent analysis, mature judgment and

knowledge of Foundation functions.



Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and process journal entries

• Manage data entry for gifts and coordinate gift acknowledgements

• Manage data entry for accounts payable, grants and other awards including

preparation of checks and accompanying correspondence relating to bills and

award process

• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and payments

• Work with President and Financial Consultant on setting-up new funds and

maintaining fund records

• Process bank deposits and assist with wire transfer set-up

• Maintain bank statements and process monthly reconciliations

• Maintain investment pool statements and process quarterly reconciliations

• Prepare fund statements monthly and on request from donors and other

agencies

• Manage the administration of payroll, leave and other benefits and appropriate

records

• Work with independent auditor to provide coordination and collection of

information needed for annual audit

• Assist President with establishment of Charitable Gift Annuities, manage and

produce annuity payouts

• Provide back-up support to administrative staff and reception

• Other duties as assigned





Qualifications:

• Associates degree or greater in Accounting

• Five years professional experience

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, & database

management

• Ability to work independently within a team

• Detail oriented

• High level of professional and interpersonal communication skills.

• Experience within a community foundation environment, and particularly with

Quickbooks, a plus.
