The selected candidate will provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and analytical support to AFSPC in the area of Command, Control, and Communications (C3) for AFSPC's portfolio of Offensive and Defensive Space Control programs. The candidate should have experience in several of the following areas: the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS), WAN and LAN architecture, Risk Management Framework (RMF), Communications Security (COMSEC), Space Operations, Ground System Architecture, mobile communications systems, long haul communications, development of test plans, and the program acquisition lifecycle. The candidate will be required to participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings and working groups, working closely with the Program Offices at the Space and Missile Systems Center and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Duties include ensuring concepts are technically sound, requirements are properly documented, designs meet specifications, and tests procedures adequately prove the operational capability is demonstrated and acceptable. The selected candidate will be expected to interact with the Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG), other program office staff and a wide variety of DOD organizations including HQ AFSPC, Joint Force Space Component Command, National Space Defense Center (NSDC), the Principal DOD Space Advisor (PDSA), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), US Strategic Command, US Cyber Command, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), other functional and regional COCOMs and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The candidate will also be expected to effectively interface with the Intelligence Community and other government organizations such as the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).



Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience required; advanced degree is desirable. Eight or more years of related experience is required. A strong technical background in secure communications systems, space systems operational communications infrastructure, and NSA approved Type One encryption devices is required. Requires a working knowledge of DOD network architectures, multi-level security, satellite control networks, the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS). Joint Theater communications systems experience and an understanding of general space operations is desirable. Demonstrated flexibility to assume a variety of tasks and significant experience leading teams is required. Demonstrated ability to lead concept development activities is desirable. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and be comfortable briefing senior military leaders. This position requires a current TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain SAP/SAR clearances. The flexibility to travel to geographically-dispersed stakeholders is required.
